1. FinEst comics exhibition

    FinEst, Latvian National Library, Riga, 16.11. - 27.11.2010

    Comics exhibition with the theme "24h" with artists from Finland, Estonia and Latvia was on display in Riga before travelling further to Tallinn, Helsinki and other places. Latvian artists included: Rūta Briede, Mārtiņš Zutis, Ingrīda Pičukāne, Anita Rupeika, Sabīne Moore, Maija Līduma, Kristofers Reidzāns and Arnolds Soms.

    The exhibition was organized by the Finnish Institute in Estonia and the Finnish Comics Society, supported by the Finnish Embassy in Latvia, Estonian Embassy in Riga and by kuš!. Curated by: Kalle Hakkola, Co-Curators: Joonas Sildre and David Schilter.

    The Last Match, KomiksFest!, Prague, Czech Republic, 30.10-28.11.2010

    The exhibition traveled to Prague and was shown in the Tower in the framework of KomiksFest!. At the festival David Schilter (kuš! editor)  was present and ufortunately kuš! contributor Yoshi from Lithuania missed it. There were 263 contributions from 51 different countries on display, including 10 new contributions from the Czech Republic.

  3. Finnish comics workshop

    Comics workshop in Riga, Tasty Telpa, 17.-18.10.2010

    Aino Sutinen and Karri Laitinen from Helsinki came to Latvia to hold a 2-day comics workshop for Latvian artists in Tasty Telpa.

    This event was initiated and supported by the Finnish Institue in Estonia and co-organized by kuš!.

  4. Explozīcija

    Explosition, LMC office gallery, Riga, 29.09-17.11.2010

    Very contemporary and slightly explosive exhibition at the gallery of the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art with the participation of 11 Latvian artists: Andrejs Lavrinovičs, Kristians Brekte, Rūta Briede, Raids Kalniņš, Velta Ķešāne, Ernests Kļaviņš, Maija Kurševa, Ingrīda Pičukāne, Bulats Ratkevičs, Arnolds Soms and Mārtiņš Zutis. Curator: David Schilter. Logo designer: Markus Häfliger.

    The exhibition opening and performance took place at the 27.09.

  5. ბოლო ასანთი

    The Last Match, Ioseb Grishashvili Tbilisi History Museum, Tbilisi, Georgia, 2.10-10.10.10

    The exhibition "the last match" traveled to Georgia and was shown in the framework of Artisterium, the 3rd Tbilisi International Contemporary Art Exhibition and Art Events Festival. At this point the exhibition contained works of 247 artists from 47 countries. At the festival David Schilter (kuš! editor) and Martins Zutis (comics artist) held a comics fanzine workshop.     The exhibition was generously supported by the Latvian Culture Capital Foundation (VKKF) and the Honorary Consulate of Latvia in Georgia.

  6. Helsingin sarjakuvafestivaalit 2010

    25th Helsinki Comics Festival, Helsinki, 10.-12.09.2010

    kuš! was at the 25th anniversary edition of Helsinki Comics Festival with a stand in the main tent selling kuš! magazines, post cards, posters, bags and also books from kuš!-friends. At our stand we met a lot of "kuš!-artists" such as Kolbeinn Karlsson, Marcus Nyblom, Emelie Östergren (Sweden), Joonas Sildre (Estonia), Roope Eronen, Jari Vaara, Anna Sailamaa, Marko Turunen, Tommi Musturi, Jirki Nissinen (Finland) and Bendik Kaltenborn (Norway).

  7. New Anatomy

    New Anatomy, Fluxus Ministerija, Vilnius, 17.-22.08.2010

    kuš! co-curated the comics art exhibition 'New Anatomy' in Lithuania. Participating artists were Maija Kurševa, Oskars Pavlovskis (Latvia), Eikantas Pakalka, Arturas Rožkovas, Karolis Strautniekas (Lithuania), Agnieszka Piksa, Kuba Woynarowski (Poland). Next to new works of this artists also the books, silkscreen posters and books of Le Dernier Cri were displayed. The exhibition was part of Drop Dead Festival.

  8. Mental Discharge

    Le Dernier Cri Exhibition, Dirty Deal Gallery, Riga, 15.07-06.08.2010

    Sickscreen posters, books and animation movies presented by the French collective LE DERNIER CRI. International artists included in the exhibition among others: Pakito Bolino (Fr), Léo Quievreux (Fr), Moulinex (Fr), Marie Pierre Bunuel (Fr), Blanquet (Fr), Andy Bouls (Fr), Caroline Sury (Fr), Yann Taileffer (Fr), Les frères Guedin (Fr), Matthias Lehmann (Fr), Marcel Rujters (Nl), Daisuke Ichiba (J), Ota Keiti (J), Elina Merenmies (Fi), Matti Hagelberg (Fi), Katija Tukkiainen (Fi), Atak (De), MS Bastian (CH), Mat Brinkman (USA), Mike Diana (USA), Leif Goldberg (USA), Marco Corona (It)

    The opening event included a live music jam to the animation films "wild religions" with Pakito Bolino and the DEX PISTOLS.

    Presented by kuš! in cooperation with Dirty Deal and generously supported by the French Cultural Centre, Riga and by the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art.

    The Last Match, Buchhandlung und Galerie MZIN, Leipzig, Germany, 11.06-11.07.2010

    The exhibition "the last match" was on display in the beautiful MZIN gallery. It contained works from 219 artists from 43 countries. The exhibition was generously supported by the Robert Bosch Stiftung.

    The Last Match from the East, Galerie 37, Haarlem, the Netherlands, 03.06-18.06.2010

    Selected "last match" works from Eastern European along with reproductions were exhibited in the gallery 37 at the Stripdagen in Haarlem. The comic festival had a special exhibition called ‘Komiks from the other half - more weird, more good', where also Dace Sietiņa from Latvia was invited to display her works. The exhibition was brought to Haarlem by Oskars Pavlovskis.

    The Last Match, Comic-Salon Erlangen, Germany, 03.06-06.06.2010

    The exhibition "the last match" was an official exhibition at the biggest German Comic Festival in Erlangen. The exhibition contained works from 205 artists from 42 countries.

  12. Latvian Comics Showcase

    Latvian Comics Showcase, Days for Contemporary Art, Bialystok, Poland, 20.05-30.05.2010

    At the Days for Contemporary Art Kuš! presented some of the most interesting stories created by Latvian artists from the past three years. Works of the following artists are on display: Rūta Briede, Kaspars Groševs, Ernests Kļaviņš, Līga Koklače, Anete Melece, Oskars Pavlovskis (illustration above), Reinis Pētersons, Ingrīda Pičukāne and Mārtiņš Zutis.

    The exhibiton was opened on Thursday the 20.05 at 21.30 with the presence of Kuš! editor David Schilter and artist Līga Koklače at Fama, ul. Legionowa 5, Bialystok with musical entertainment by DJ Monsta.

    The Last Match, Fumetto Satellite, Haegeli, Lucerne, Switzerland, 20.04-10.05.2010

    The exhibition "the last match" was on display as "satelite exhibition" at the International Comic Art Festival Fumetto in Lucerne, Switzerland. The exhibition contained works from 192 artists from 41 countries.

  14. Koomiksi Biennal in Estonia

    kuš! as special guest in Koomiksi Biennial, Tallinn, 16. April 2010

    kuš! took part as"special guest" in a symposium at the first Comic Biennial in Tallinn, Estonia. Also there was an exhibition in which Ingrida Picukane was included.

  15. Comic Workshop

    Comics workshop in Valmiera and Riga, 17.-19.3.2010

    Sylvain-Moizie from Strasbourg came to Latvia to hold 2 workshops to introduce the way how to create comics. The first one was two days at the Art School of Valmiera and the second one was one day at the Latvian Art Academy in Riga.

    This event was co-organized with the "co-operation Bas-Rhin - Vidzeme" and the French Cultural Centre Riga.

  16. 3 für 1

    Exhibition "3 für 1", Culture Centre Kapu, Linz, 26.2-5.3.10 

    Kuš! was invited to the Austrian nextComic Festival were it presented 3 exhibitions at once. One part was "the last match", at the time containing works from 185 artists from 40 countries, the second part was a showcase of selected Latvian artists (Ernests Klavins, Martins Zutis, Maija Liduma, Dace Sietina, Kaspar Grosevs, Anete Melece, Oskars Pavlovskis and Maija Kurseva) and the third part was a solo exhibition of the works from Anete Melece.   17. zagubiony w mieście

    Exhibition "Lost in the City", Galeria Starter, Poznan, 06.02-15.02.10

    Exhibition with works by Latvian artists Anete Melece, Kaspars Groševs, Ingrīda Pičukāne, Maija Kurševa and Oskars Pavlovskis at the Comics Art Festival Ligatura in Poznan. The exhibition was opened on Saturday, February 6th at 15.00 with the presence of curator David Schilter and artist Ingrīda Pičukāne. Read more here.

  18. O Último Fósforo

    The Last Match, Gallery Artside, Lisbon 16.01.-08.02.2010

    The exhibition "the last match" traveled further to Lisbon in an extended version and more artists from Portugal were invited at the place. The exhibition contained works from 179 artists from 38 countries. Organized in Cooperation with Chili Com Carne and supported by the Latvian Embassy in Portugal and KKF.
